About Julie Byrne
In 1996 I completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Melbourne majoring in English and Drama. Since graduating, I have been teaching Drama, Dance, English and English Intervention in secondary schools for the last 15 years and continue doing so. I have directed many school productions and rock eisteddfods and currently work with students who struggle with their reading and writing. Hopefully I have inspired a student or two along the way! Needless to say, I am approachable and flexible.
In 2011, I begin a Master in Literacy at Monash University to further understand the learning of my students and to help increase my knowledge as a parent of 2 young children.
Throughout the last decade I have worked in the wedding industry also. I have emceed and DJ’d wedding functions in the earlier years and been involved in marriage celebrancy the last few years.
I love working with people and designing and performing ceremonies that make people smile.
My hobbies include going to the gym, completing fun runs (although I still think it’s an oxymoron!) watching the Magpies play (and win more premierships) and shopping for bargains.
I have performed ceremonies all over Melbourne and country Victoria and will continue to do so for some time yet.
